Residential Care
Within our 60 bed residential care facility, each resident occupies a single room.
Rooms feature built in wardrobe storage, an ensuite with a flat-based, walk-in shower, vanity and toilet. All bedrooms and ensuites include Nurse Call points to summon staff in the event of an emergency.
Assessment and fees
Prior to admission we will undertake an informal assessment to determine whether your care needs can be met.
Aged Care Assessment Services (ACAS)
Gorrinn Village is a not-for-profit government funded facility, so if you are interested in living in our residential care, you will need to first undergo an assessment by Aged Care Assessment Services (ACAS). This will determine if you are eligible to receive Australian Government support for residential aged care. We are only able to offer a place to residents if we assess that individual care needs can be met by the services offered at our facility.
Your health provider or social worker can refer you to an ACAS assessor, or you can locate a local assessor directly at www.health.gov.au.
Gorrinn Village assessment
If you are eligible for Australian Government Support for respite or permanent residential care, and a place becomes available at Gorrinn Village, you will then undergo our own assessment process to identify your specific care needs. Care is tailored according to specific needs. We’ll look carefully at health and nutrition, personal care needs, medical care and general lifestyle and social expectations.
Fees
While the Australian Government provides some funding to residential aged care homes to assist with the costs associated with providing care, most residents are required to pay a number of fees and charges. This depends on your income and assets, and hardship provisions are available.
More information about our fees can be found here.

Independent Living Units
Located within the grounds of Gorrinn Village is our cluster of safe and private independent living units, set in lovely garden surrounds.
We currently have 35 units for retirees who may be looking to down-size and no longer wish to be burdened by a large garden, or house, to maintain.
Each unit features a modern bathroom, well-appointed kitchen, lounge and laundry. All units also have carports and security doors. All units are specifically designed to cater for the elderly.
The units are unfurnished, allowing residents to add their all-important personal touch to their home.
A fortnightly rental applies to all units, which covers municipal rates, water usage, building insurance and internal and external maintenance.
A variety of one and two bedroom modern units or cottages are currently available on site. Check our Media Releases for availability. All our units are designed with the elderly in mind, so surrounding areas are safe, accessible and aesthetically pleasing. Gardens are maintained by our staff, but residents are able to tend their own gardens if they wish.
