Leisure and Lifestyle at Gorrinn Village
|
The Leisure and Lifestyle program at Gorrinn Village is a part of our acclaimed care services and encourages residents to continue to maintain as much independence as possible, for as long as possible.
We have daily Leisure and Lifestyle activities, which consist of a number of choices for interested residents to attend. These are usually packed to the rafters, the residents like them so much! Residents also enjoy daily exercises most days, with other weekly activities including Happy Hour, sing-a-long, puzzles and games. We also have visiting entertainers, along with some of the local school children, retailers from all over the state, mobile zoos and museums, as well as special events such as celebrating birthdays for a particular month, St Patrick's Day and Melbourne Cup Day. Once a month our Ladies Auxiliary join us for Afternoon Tea and provide some wonderful entertainment! There are also celebrations that families are invited along to attend, such as Easter festivities and our Christmas Family BBQ. Our Program is ever-expanding and has recently seen the introduction of our "Contributing to Village Life" Program. This is all about interested residents participating in key tasks they would have ordinarily completed in their own homes. Some of the choices they can participate in include meal preparation, gardening, laundry, flower arranging and table setting and many more! The program assists residents to maintain some sense of normalcy in their lives and not feel as though they are living in a hotel or hospital. |
